Valeska Campion

Drawing on her life experiences, Valeska works collaboratively with clients to promote awareness and make changes around their behaviour – to lighten and enlighten. Using compassion, kindness, and sometimes humour, to facilitate this guided-discovery process, the focus is on the whole self, lifestyle balance and developing a person’s ability to cope, make new choices, and bring about change in their life.

The areas in which Valeska has experience in are: loss, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, addictions, relationships, life transitions, change and low self esteem.

Prioritising the relationship between the client and the therapist, Valeska focuses on  providing a safe and non-judgemental environment where people can explore their concerns. This can provide the opportunity to gain new tools and understanding, in order to manage difficulties and make positive changes in their lives.

Valeska has also worked as an art therapist in a variety of situations, as well as maintaining her own art career over many years bringing her creative experience to her practise.

Valeska is a full member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors, and her qualifications include Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy Core Skills, and has completed three years training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. She receives regular professional supervision, and keeps up to date with current research and theory.
